Tirzah Garwood on the silver screen

Eiderdown Books had a Big Night Out recently at the world premiere screening of Eric Ravilious Drawn to War at the Curzon in Mayfair, London.

The film tells the true life story of Eric Ravilious through his art, from his early sketches of the Sussex landscape, to his revival of wood-engraving and then his masterful wartime watercolour paintings.

A special Q&A with the film's director Margy Kinmonth and the actor Freddie Fox who voices Ravilious, was chaired by journalist Francine Stock after the screening

We were particularly excited to see some examples of Tirzah Garwood's work included in the film alongside Eric's work, such as some of Garwood's marbled papers and this photo of her working alongside Ravilious on their mural at the Midland Hotel, Morecambe in 1933.
